“It’s over.”

I stared at him. I couldn’t speak. So many thoughts, running through my mind. So many things that I wanted to say to him. “No .. don’t. Please don’t go. Don’t give up on me. I love you so much .. Don’t leave me.” Nothing would come out of my mouth. He looked at me, his face expressionless. “Why?” I managed to whisper. ” I don’t love you anymore. I’m sorry. ” My breathing became more rapid; my hands started to shake. I looked up at him, tears forming in my eyes. “I—I can change. Just don’t leave me. Please. Please. Don’t —-” I held onto his hands, clutching them tightly.

” I’m in love with somebody else.” He pulled his hands away from mine, & looked at me, waiting for my reaction. I stepped back, taking a good look at him; knowing that this would be the last time I’d see him again. I took a deep breath & forced myself to smile. “I hope you’re happy with her.” He half-smiled at me, but the guilt was visible in his eyes. “Thanks.”

& with that, he walked away from my life forever, & with tears streaming down my face, I silently said goodbye ..
